i'd like the alcohol and flames to stay....the sigils should go byebye. I think that they're really not a suitable reward...they'll be worth 0 if it stays :/

Halls are a dime a dozen these days... its sad really.

and you youngins don't realize...we had to carry that rez orb up stairs for the entire map and we had to wear starter armor. bread was cheaper and we LIKED IT
git off my lawn ya crazy kids!
i don't think sigils are the hot item. they're kinda like...you get in a guild and you play and...you have a hall already...um...
the big thing if you're "farming-minded" is the faction, especially for unlocking the nightfall skills and scythe upgrades and stuff. that might not even be a big factor after this weekend. thiink people are just nutsos to check out D and P asap without the premade limits.

That would be weird. People who buy GW Gold could just buy up the flames and unlock everything.

I don't know why some people are freaking out about Sigils as a reward. Sigils have been utterly worthless for many months now. It is much easier and faster to farm Luxon or Kurz faction for 10k in gold than it is to get 500 medals for a Sigil which also only gets you 10k in gold, or less.
The complaints should be that Sigils are not worth nearly enough money for the time it takes to get 500 medals.
And no, I'm not complaining because I can't get them, I already have well over 500 medals. The point is that the time/effort/reward synergy is all out of whack to the detriment of those being rewarded.

Of course.
I just kill people with my assassin though to get faction. Really effective too since alot of people can't seem to use the Dervish or Paragorn right. >.>

What you call Elitism, I call Organization. This is not Diablo II. This is Guild Wars. Emphasis on Guild. Guild does not mean "simple thing you pick up and everyone has one." Guild means highly organized group of players working together. There isn't supposed to be a guild per weekend warrior. There's supposed to be big guilds, jammed with really good people, recruiting the best, etc. Then other guilds under that. A hierarchy. It's all part of what the word even entails.
Here's what I think about, when I think of a Guild:
- Group works together. There's only a few of them.
- Group is organized. Group fuels each other.
- Group decides to get more members, attract more attention.
- Group builds up the resources, the knowledge and the player base.
- Group founds their guild with said resources.
- Group has a good reason to ask for members, and deny it to others.
- Group can work hard to be on the ladder, making their guild better.
- Group had to work for it all.
- Only a group that is organized and working together will have this Guild.
If every kid out there can just leave a character in RA/TA on a script bot and auto-farm faction all day off good players just to build up masses of medalions in suddenly make a crop of guilds, then here's what you'll be seeing shouted at Droks:
"WTS GUILD HALL, CAPE, ETC, RANK 1000!!!! 5k!"
If that's elistist to you, then maybe you should go back to playing Iron Man on Battle.net?

I'm sorry that you feel that you need to be soo rude, Malveaux. But not everyone sees the game the way you do, and not everyone needs to play the way you see fit.
A guild is a group of like minded individuals. If 3 friends want to play together on the weekends and not try to be on the ladder, that is none of your concern. If one person wants to play throu PvE and do some RA without joining a guild, that is none of your business. If ArenaNet wanted everone to be in a major guild, they would not let you do anything without being in one. But as it you can do everything without being a member of a guild, or being the sole member of the guild.

And how does the weeked warrior guild affect you, really? if they are small and weak, then probably no one will even notice them. As vinegrower said, a guild is not all that stuff you said, it is just a group of friends, no law forces it to be professional or competitive. I am, myself, in a large guild, composed mostly of casual players, people who will play a few hours per week, get together, help each other. It's a game, it's meant to be fun. And yes, it IS elitist of you to think only "worthy" people should get guilds and guildhalls. As I said before, anyone should be able to have a guild; it's the quality of the guild that counts, really. So what if people want to be selling guilds around? if someone wants to buy one, fine; if no one buys it, they just fail.
Now, if people are botting, then it is a completely different story, and it has to be stopped and those players punished. But that's not a reason to stop people from being able to create guilds.

Has anyone been able to confirm whether or not the sigil you get from the collector works like a regular sigil you would get from the sigil trader, or if it puts your guild emblem in your hall?
(If you didnt know, if a guild leader uses a sigil that was earned by him/her self in HOH, you get the guild emblem in your hall)

So has anyone tested the Flasks yet? Other than knowing they're alcohol, how good are they? Worth wasting the medals on?
Otherwise, what good are all these Medals... the faction can be nice, to speedy unlock all the skills you need (and runes, items, etc). But once that's finished, you have so many left... what to do?
I hope flasks are nice.
Someone who uses them, tell?
Cheers!

I might have to buy the flasks just to see what getting drunk is like.

I've read the flasks are good liquor, IE only takes 1 to get drunk not 3.
However, it would still be cheaper to sell the medallions for 50g each and buy regular 200g ea ales (even though you need an extra 2, before you get drunk with the 3rd).
Some people have no problem paying a lot of money for the 1k faction for each balthzaar flame, but me and many other people dont need more faction.
The sigil for 500 medallions is not really a good deal, as you can sell 500 medallions for well over the value of a sigil from the sigil trader.
So basically selling the medallions is probably your best bet unless you want balthazaar faction.
UNLESS.. (see my previous post) the sigil is not a normal sigil like the one you get from the sigil trader. If I knew it would put a guild emblem in my GH, i'd get one.
